Gameplay trailer for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim 'Dawnguard' DLC is grim

Side with the Dawnguard or the growing darkness in Skyrim's first content add-on

Bethesda has set loose a shivers-inducing trailer for DawnguardThe Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's first content add-on, along with some initial details on the add-on's release. Dawnguard is planned for summer 2012 for the Xbox 360, and will cost 1600 MSP ($20 unless you can find a sale) -- release details for other platforms have yet to be revealed. Beyond that, no other details were confirmed via Bethesda, but there's much to be taken from what's shown in the trailer below.
The basic premise seems to be a battle or war between two different factions (check out the trailer now if you don't want to be spoiled here), the Dawnguard and the darkness faction of what looks to be vampires, or at least a demonic evolution of them. How the battle between the two ends will likely have much to do with what role theDovahkiin chooses.
I may be mistaken, but I also see a bit of flying going on after turning into a vampire-demon (or maybe hovering), likely a power granted if the player chooses to join the darkness' side. In terms of extra features mounted combat is teased, a reference to the combat update in patch 1.6, crossbows are also featured prominently, and there's a shot of a new undead horse mount, also -- what's with the dragon diving thru ice? I'm probably missing a whole lot, so point out your observations in the comments.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's first DLC add-on Dawnguard is coming summer of 2012, but will likely have a timed exclusivity period on the Xbox 360. Price will be a healthy 1600 MSP, or about $20.

  1. I lost interest in Skyrim personally, but paying that much for DLCs is a pain for me.
